new pamphlet on bolivia

16 09 2008

We have produced a pamphlet on the current class struggle and social crisis in Bolivia. The pamphlet, costing £1, includes analysis of the far-right’s mounting coup attempts and the state of the workers’ movement, along with translations of documents produced by the Central Obrera Boliviana union federation and the miners’ union.

If you would like a copy of the 18 page pamphlet, email uncaptiveminds@googlemail.com or write to us at The Commune, 2nd Floor, 145-157 St John Street, London EC1V 4PY.

My favorite Bolivian Trotskyists, the LORCI, have a statement available in English – with an improved translation:
“We need a nation wide protest to defeat the “Media Luna” oligarchy
It is possible to halt the right wing offensive!”

This site – http://socialismo-o-barbarie.org/ (linked from the MAS page linked to above) – is also very interesting, particularly on Bolivia, but also it has some Hal Draper. They also have some IST stuff, but don’t appear to be linked.

SoB are some “post-morenists” as far as I know, they have no groups outside Latin America, they are generally open-minded and keen to cooperate on a daily and grassroots level with other revolutionary organizations

Excellent pamhplet: I thought it was really good that it stresses class independence and no compromise with government organizations that actually attack the working class.

The British Left seem just to support people like Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales because theyre anti-American, but actually they are committed to maintianing capitalism and want the state to “control” capital. This has no solutions for the working class who have to take power for themselves.
